The Magic Number 7 (years)

There's a thousand reasons for us to feel down and that God is being unfair towards us.
But there's a thousand reasons for us to feel awesome and grateful for the things we have.

We can count all the bad things and events that have ever knocked on our respective doors. But try and start counting the blessings and all the good things that have been given to us, and you'll start seeing life in a whole different light.

be alive. you're alive when you're aware of your treasures.

This blog began as a personal remark/ diary for me. Everything that was written, was rather personal. It has been 7 years, since August 2005. Although I've changed the address many times over as the evolution took place, the same person was and is still writing them.

And as I said earlier, I've decided to move from personal diary blogging to a place where you guys can at least feel inspired, motivated and feel awesome about life!

when we start listening to others, then that's where we can have a meaningful discussion.

Although I do put in between a little something about mine (my life) but not as much as I used to.
Therefore, I would like to take today's posting timeline as a way for me to thank you guys for the feedback, comments and support have been giving me.

I am, as the common phrase goes, grateful and thankful.

I have been fortunate to have known so many awesome and wonderful people out there and for that, I hope you guys will remain as awesome or even more awesome for many years to come.

some people are seen as crazy, but who knows who they really are until we take the time to know them?

If there's one thing I know (and know for sure) we are all different - in opinions, in perspectives, experience, so that's why the willingness to share and accept is important.

I promise to make it even more awesome here for you.
And with that, have a super duper awesome weekend, lads!

cheerio!

THIS BLOG IS FOR YOU GUYS TO FEEL AWESOME.
SO, STAY AWESOME. BE AWESOME. AND JUST DO AWESOME THINGS TODAY!

Grow! Even for a little more, grow!

Grow! Even for a little more, grow!
But waiting for a few years already, still they are not growing at the rate I wanted them too.
And I felt envious of others who have them. So thus, I cannot relate to the Gillette adverts on the tele and the problem those who have to shave every morning.

I remember a time when I was back in school, my friends and I were each showing how long our beards, or goatee at least.

Some of you might be thinking, what's the big deal?
Well, to us boys back then, it showed a sign of maturity - you know how it was back then. We wanted to be seen as adults. Not the children that we were. We wanted to be taken seriously.

Anyway, that's old in the past now. Now, it doesn't seem important anymore. If it's there, it's there.
At least, economically speaking, I don't have to spend much on Gillette.

The Tornados were an English instrumental group of the 1960s that acted as backing group for many of record producer Joe Meek's productions and also for singer Billy Fury. They enjoyed several chart hits in their own right, including the UK and U.S. Number One "Telstar" (named after the satellite and composed by Meek), the first U.S. #1 by a British group.

From January 1962 to August 1963, The Tornados were the backing band of Billy Fury; they toured and recorded with him as The Tornados.[1] Their recordings were produced by Mike Smith and Ivor Raymonde.
The Tornados made a scopitone film (an early form of music video) for "Telstar" and another for their chart hit "Robot" featuring members of the group walking around woodland dressed in appropriate headgear with their guitars, flirting with various young women and being finally arrested by policemen after lighting a campfire.
For a time the Tornados were considered serious rivals to The Shadows. The Tornados single "Globetrotter" made it to number 5 in the UK Singles Chart but Meek induced bassist Heinz Burt to leave for a solo career and in 1963 the group began to fall apart. By 1965 none of the original lineup remained. On some promotional items, later lineups were therefore credited as Tornados '65 and The New Tornados, but these names were never used on the Tornados releases. Later in the mid sixties The Tornados backed Billy Fury again, with Dave Watts on keyboards, Robby Gale on guitar and John Davies on drums. In 1968, in Israel to perform in Mandy Rice-Davies' night club "Mandys", they stayed for a ten week tour after which they disbanded, leaving Watts in Israel playing with The Lions of Judea. In later years,
After drummer and bandleader Clem Cattini left the Tornados in 1965 he became a successful session musician, playing on recording sessions for other artists, and was featured in Cliff Richard's backing bands. He holds the record for appearing the most times on UK #1 singles.
Rhythm guitarist George Bellamy is the father of Matthew Bellamy, the front man of British Alternative Rock band Muse.
In 1975 Clem Cattini, Roger LaVern, Heinz Burt and George Bellamy reunited and released a version of "Telstar" as the Original Tornados. In the 1970s Billy Fury formed a new backing band called Fury's Tornados with a completely unrelated line-up. They also recorded and released a version of "Telstar" in the mid 1970s.
In 1996 Ray Randall wrote and recorded a 3-track CD with Bryan Irwin and Stuart Taylor, using the band name Ray Randall's Tornados, as a tribute to the late Joe Meek, 30 years after Meek's death. Randall has since recorded a solo album entitled "Polly Swallow" (1997).
Panda Bear sampled two Tornados songs on his album Person Pitch.

 "Do You Come Here Often?"

The B-side of the final single that the group released, in 1966, "Do You Come Here Often?", was the first openly "gay" pop record release by a UK major label.[2] It started off as a standard organ-inspired instrumental, but Joe Meek decided that the organ playing was a little too jazzy for the style of the group. So, about two-thirds in, a casual conversation between what appears to be two gay men (Dave Watts playing keyboards and Rob Gale playing guitar) was overdubbed.[3] The song was featured, along with other gay-flavoured releases, on a 2006 compilation CD, Queer Noises.  Members

No Phones, please!

Now that handphones are really cheap and affordable, especially by the middle-class in this country, almost everyone we see on the street owns a handphone.  Now with Apple successfully penetrated the mass market with Ipad, Iphone, children at the age of 5 or 6 already have them.

While this is a good thing, there must be a limit to the hours we spend using them.
And parents, please do your job.
And friends, please tell your other friends.

Back to basic. Implement the no-phone rule during dinner, per se.
Spend more time with real people.
Handphones should NOT be allowed during dinner and lunch.

Once, I saw a family at a restaurant- 6 members - while waiting for their foods to arrive, all were busy with their handphones and Ipad.

There was no conversation (minimal lah) which was and still is disappointing, come to think of it.
When the foods arrive, still the handphones in their hands.

I mean, do something!
The trend is this: we are busy communicating with people so far away from us but not engaging the people who are beside us, who are real in front of us.

It's not serious to some, maybe. But it's a dead serious problem to me.
And I haven't started writing on the computer games and console yet.

Hometown: Melbourne, FL
Genres: Metal / Hard Rock / Progressive Rock
Members: Kyle Bolduc (Vocals) Dan Wilson (Guitar) Shad Roundy (Bass) Josh Runfeldt (Drums)
Today rock music and metal music seems to have been masked, manipulated, and drawn with every characterization possible. With genres of stagnate duplications and pools of curiously aggressive music addicts, the looming fans looking for an outlet have come to find Florida quartet Lydia Can’t Breathe. Over the past few years they have made a lot of noise in the metal scene. While constructing a sound unique to the usual genre classifications, this metal/rock band from Florida defies the normal sound with an exciting mixture of growling vocals, natural vocals, driving an over tone of heavy break downs with catchy progressions.
Lydia Can’t Breathe is an American rock band from Central Florida, formed in 2005. It consists of Kyle Bolduc (lead vocals, guitar), Dan Wilson (guitar), Shad Roundy (bass, background vocals) and Josh Runfeldt (drums). All four members were born in the United States, and are known for their funny personalities. Dan emphasizes on the heavy sound with his guitar. Josh fits in comfortably with a variety of styles on drums, and Shad fills in the low end with a funky style of deep bass. Lead singer Kyle, is known widely amongst Lydia fans for his unique views that are expressed outspokenly in his lyrics. Along with his inapprehensible behavior while performing, together their styles combined make up the sound of Lydia Can't Breathe.

The Dualers is Tyber Cranstoun and his eight-piece band who perform ska and reggae, playing both original material and cover versions.

 History

Until late 2010 Tyber performed as The Dualers with his brother Si Cranstoun, who left the band to pursue a solo career. Whilst busking on the streets, most Saturdays, they performed cover versions of the songs they grew up listening to.
The Dualers released their first material in 2004. On 24 October 2004 their debut single "Kiss On The Lips" entered the UK Singles Chart at # 21.[1] In 2005 they released "Truly Madly Deeply" through Gut Records and it gave them their second UK hit single, reaching # 23.
On 11 November 2005, Channel 5 broadcast a news report and an interview with the brothers about their achievements. This was followed a few weeks later by an appearance on Children in Need television programme.
"Don't Go" was released on 12 June 2006 and was their biggest selling single to date, outselling both previous releases, but a proportion of these sales were not counted towards the chart due to a technicality, meaning it charted at # 61. The Dualers debut album, The Melting Pot, was released on 3 July that year.
They have played concerts in large venues such as Croydon's Fairfield Halls, Churchill Theatre in Bromley, Indigo at the O2, Kingsmeadow Stadium in Kingston and the Brentwood Centre in Essex. The British movie, Fool's Gold, starring Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson, featured The Dualers version of "Truly Madly Deeply" and the same year the band headlined the Potsdam Ska Festival in Lindenpark, Germany. In 2009, The Dualers supported Madness at three of their outdoor concerts.

See you in court

This week was quite a ride for me.
I don't know how to start, but remember I told you I was moving a few post ago? Click here if you're unsure.
So anyway, the agent called me yesterday the landlord was planning to inform her lawyer for the "damages" at home.

OK, I admit. I'm not the perfect tenant. But for the doors that were broken since the first day we came into the house and yes, we left lots of our things that we didn't need to bring with us. So, it's pretty messy.

But to bring the matter to court just for that small matter?
To a fresh graduate who barely has any money to pay the amount the landlord requested?

I told the agent that if you want to take me to court, take lah. Do I care?
And he even charged me for the cleaning people.
Like I said, I'm not the perfect tenant but that's what deposits are for.

But I asked around, and almost everyone told me, chill lah. Nothing to be afraid of. If they want to saman, samanlah!

But I'd like to ask,
what should I do?
Then again, the case is too small, too insignificant to even bother myself with.

Don’t need Salman, Shah Rukh Khan: Kamal Haasan

Kamal Haasan is miffed with reports that have claimed that he has approached Shah Rukh, Salman and Jackie Chan for his upcoming film Amar Hai after Vishwaroopam. He said that he is fed up of of these baseless rumors that have him approaching either the Khans or Hollywood stars like Jackie Chan or Tom Cruise. He said that he does not need Salman or Shah Rukh Khan to sell his films and is certainly not the Bollywood – obsessed regional actor he is made out to be.

Kamal insisted that he is not out to leave his footprint in Bollywood and is content to make his kind of cinema. He said that the only actor he was dying to work with is Dilip Kumar. About Amar Hai, his next film, Kamal said it is a film on corruption. He added that he will discuss it at length once Vishwaroopam hits the screens.

Manam Koththi Paravai

Director S Ezhil of ‘Thullatha Manamum Thullum’ fame is back after a brief sojourn. He comes with a movie that is light-hearted, entertaining and hilarious and at the same a little cliched. With Siva Karthikeyan at the helm of affairs accompanied by a slew of comedy artistes, he has managed to come clean.

‘Manam Koththi Paravai’ is about romance, friendship and some emotions. The hero is simple guy who resembles boy next-door and there are no needless knots in the storyline.

‘Manam Koththi Paravai’ blends romance and humor and is no doubt a family entertainment. Giving company to Siva Karthikeyan is debutante Athmiya. The likes of seasoned campaigners like Singam Puli and Illavarasu give solidity to the script. The only lacunae seems to be the uncles of the heroines who speak from their belly.

Ezhil has won half the battle even before the movie could hit the screens as he managed to get in his team music composer D Imman and cinematographer Suraj Nallusamy. Both do a good, clean job complimenting the story and don’t try anything overboard stretching for some effect.

Kannan (Siva Karthikeyan) is a callous youth who falls for his neighbor Revathy (Athmiya). Her father and uncles are known ruffians in the village and flex their muscle for anything and everything. Kannan’s father (Ilavarasu) is a building contractor and he is assisted by his son in his business.

Kannan loves spending time with his friends (Parotta Suri, Singam Puli and ‘Deiva Thirumagal’ Kishore). When Kannan decides to open his heart to Revathy, her wedding is arranged with an influential man.

Enters Kanna’s friends from Mumbai (Sreenath and Chams). Coming to know about his romance, they kidnap Revathy. But all hell breaks loose when she says that she has no interest on Kannan. The rest is a battle laced with humor.

Siva Karthikeyan peps up the proceedings with a splendid show. His simple looks compliment his character. His one-liners are witty. Athmiya is good-looking and does give a decent show. She hogs the limelight. Singam Puli sparkles with his humour and so is Parota Suri. Srinath, Venniraadi Murthy, Ravi Mariya, Vanitha among others play their part well.

Imman’s songs especially ‘Po Po Po…’ and ‘Oorana Oorukulae…’ are catchy and foot-tapping. Suraj Nallusamy’s camera captures the lush green locales of the village well. Dhina’s choreography is good.

On the whole, the movie may resemble the likes of ‘Kalavani’ and ‘Uthamaputhiran’. But forget the lengthy second half and some cliched sequences, ‘Manam Koththi Paravai’ will stick to your hearts.

Tamil Actress Sona Rape Attempt By SPB Charan,Sona Rape Attempt @ Mankatha Success Party

In a very shocking press meet, Actress Sona accuses Actor-Producer SPB Charan of attempting to rape and misbehave with her during the Mankatha Success Party. According to the actress, the party was organized by the Mankatha team boys at the Actor Vaibhav’s house and she attended the party, as director Venkat Prabhu & Premji Amaran are her close friends.

As per the actress statement, She was supposed to produce Venkat Prabhu’s next film but the plan was dropped due to financial constraints. SPB Charan, who asked to transfer the director Venkat Prabhu’s dates to him, asked about the rate for the dates as well as for her also in a double entendre manner.
He also then tried to grabbed and sexually assault her. Actor Premgi Amaran pulled him away and saved her from any mischievousness. Actress Sona said, she also lodged a formal complaint against SPB Charan for the attempted rape and offered him a 10 days time deadline to publicly apologize to her.
Now click on the below video to hear from the Actress herself.
