I loved the previous three movies of the Pirates series. They were AWESOME! Each and everyone of them, but the second the most. But for Pirates IV? hmm, one word (honestly from me): it sucks!
Now now, I am not discouraging you guys from watching this movie.It is not at all that disappointing but perhaps I have put a very high benchmark for the movie because of the previous movies,thus why I am feeling thoroughly upset over the movie.
Firstly, I thought (as for Orlando Bloom and Kiera) I would not miss them that much. But after watching the movie, damn! i miss them so much! And I understand the producer wanted to focus more on Sparrow this time,but turns out, it sucks so much!

Secondly, too much focus on Jack Sparrow has ruined his character that I loved so much! Why did I love Sparrow before? 'cause he's witty, funny, slick and mysterious. In this movie, too little to even be written here!
Thirdly, I have never been a big fan of Penelope Cruz and yes, this movie confirmed why I never was! It seemed too forceful to put her in the character of a pirate, but I guess the producer knew best, but seriously, I hate it.
Fourthly, the adventures, everything that I loved about the series before - swords, very cool villain, all missing! Where the hell are they? Why were they not in the movie? Yes, yes, I understand there's Blackbeard. But still, the villain was not as cool as Barbosa in the first movie or my all-time favourite Davy Jones!

And then, as for the mermaid-priest fall in love story, damn. That's just too cheesy, too corney, too boring and get the hell out of the movie! I s'pose they want to do again just as they did with William Turner - Elizabeth Swan but FAILED BIG TIME! It was more like a distraction! Damn!
All right guys. Did you know I watched this movie in 3D? My advise: Don't! I get headache for hours after that. The movie is not fitting for 3D.
I hope you guys can provide your own perspectives/ opinions instead. As for me, out of 5 stars, I'll give it 2.5 stars. I'm being realistic.
But to be nice, it was sure cool again to see Jack Sparrow back in town! :)
