X-Men: First Class (Review)
When I saw the billboard right in front of my university here, it showed X-Men: first class. Whoa, X-men has another movie coming out?To be quite honest, I was not that enthusiastic of this movie though, seeing that the characters featured in this movie are ones I have not seen in the previous X-Men movies, especially Wolverine.
So, I thought, bah it must be boring.
But my friend invited me to watch with him yesterday and for some reasons, I am quite an active movie-goer these days, so I said: yes.
I did not have high expectations for the movie though. If you've read my review on Pirates of the Caribbean, I still couldn't face the fact that the movie was, to be frank, a disaster.
Well, at the end of watching x-men: first class, what can I say?How should I put it? Excellent!
In fact, the actors that they cast in this movie were all great, talented people and I had fun watching them, bringing in fresh breath to the prequel.
The young Charles Xavier played by James McAvoy portrayed it nicely, well played by the actor and one even more refreshing is seeing a strange, never watched actor (by me at least) who played Magneto, Michael Fassbender.
From the start, I was being transported back to time, to see how things started and why Magneto and Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) became who they were in the previous three movies of X-Men.
I certainly loved watching Jennifer Lawrence playing Mystique in the movie, cute - innocent and just wonderful to watch.
However, it has been said that if you're a hardcore of X-men and knows its ins-and-outs, then you'd be dissappointed but if you're just a generic fan, you would be really happy watching the movie, in fact, you'd be converted into being passionate about X-men. I know I did!
Funny isn't it? I've watched X-men when I was a kid, back in the early 90's and the X-men cartoon was really fun to watch but after watching the latest movie, Xmen: first class, I must admit, I feel quite embarrass to appreciate the long history of the whole franchise only now.
But as it had been said, it's never too late to start anew, so I definitely am excited of watching the X-men trilogy again! And after came back from the cinema just now, I did search about the movie and there's going to be sequel for this movie.
Something they thought would resemble the Batman trilogy. Batman begins - Dark Knight - ?? .
And one more thing that was fun about the movie, it took place in the 60s and 70s. So, it was held during the cold war and the settings, the tense between America and Soviet Union was well placed.
I love it.
Ratings? Hmm, I am a little bit strict on this but as for this one, I must say I'll give it 7.5 out 1o. I recommend. Highly !
As it has been said, if you put enough effort into making it really good, the audience will definitely love your works.
Watch it and prepare for the fun ride while watching the movie. cheerio!
