Change Vision 2020 to Vision 2100, please.

I was over at Starbucks when I overheard a conversation between a group of friends sitting behind me. They were talking about modernity and the term "being civilized" is largely based on infrastructures alone. They mentioned, other than KL and Penang, the other parts of Malaysia are not as "civilized" due to its lack of infrastructures.

It's such a pity that we have come to this, where we judge this based on how many high rise buildings we have. And I must admit, they were not the first that I heard of this narrow-minded views. Even among my friends, they have this same perspective.
Which is sad.

I don't like our views on being civilized is largely based on infrastructures. Don't take it so simple. Without moral and matured thinking of the people, what's the point of having the tallest building in the world? What's the point of having the most expensive building in the world? What?

Look at Kuala Lumpur. Are we civilized just because we, the urban folks, stay here? I see more lack of moral here than any other place in Malaysia.Look at Tokyo. Look at Dubai. Are the people there civilized? Not really I guess.

I'm not forcing to accept my views. I'm just expressing my disappointment.

Vision 2020? Maybe we should change that to Vision 2100.We're still very far.Sad reality.
