Jagjit singh, famous indian singer died of brain haemmorhage at 70


According to sources the famous indian ghazal singer Jagjit singh died recently due to brain haemorrhage after several weeks spending in hospital, in Lilavati hospital,Mumbai.

India’s minister, information and broadcasting Ambika Soni, in her condolence  said, his death on Monday had left a a void that would be difficult to fill by anyone.

Singh was admitted to  Lilavati Hospital on Sept. 23. A hospital spokesman said Singh suffered another hemorrhage Monday morning and died abruptly.

He belonged to the Agra Gharana of Indian classical music, and regarded as one of the famous singers in India.He has sung in many languages like hindi,punjabi,urdu,gujrati and also even in nepali language.

One of the famous reputed singer Asha bosle given a statement as "I now feel very sad, because chitra(Jagjit singh's wife) is all alone" and Composer lalit said" He was a great human being"


He has given many internation concerts and also self released many private albums which gained much reputation to him in Indian classical music,...people say he is one piece of music who can mismerise people by his singing.

May his soul rest in peace,...people all over the world who are fond of his classical voice are going to miss him a lot.

Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt said that his national award winning film 'Arth' attained such heights because of its music, which was composed by Singh and his wife Chitra.  

Singh had had a history of heart ailments. In January 1998, he suffered a heart attack. In October 2007, he was hospitalised following blood circulation problems.

The singer is survived by wife Chitra Singh. The couple's only son Vivek had died in a car accident in the 1990s. 

"A heart that captured millions through poetry and song. Goodbye Jagjit, dear friend," said Kapur.

"Saddened to know 'The Ghazal King', Jagjit Singh is no more. 'Tum itna jo muskura rahe ho', this song makes me misty-eyed, especially today. RIP Jagjit Singh," Akshay Kumar said.

"Another stalwart, Jagjit Singh, passes away. RIP," tweeted Farhan Akhtar.

"May god give peace to Mr Jagjit Singh's soul. He was the king of poetry & soulful music. He will live in our hearts forever.... RIP," Prity Zinta tweeted.

"Jagjit Singhji- You will be missed .. hoto se chukar apne geet aap amar kar gaye," said Celina Jaitely.

"RIP Jagjit Singh Saab," actor Ritesh Deshmukh said.
  

"He suffered a brain haemorahage and underwent a surgery to remove clots in his brain. His condition is critical," said. Singh, who was scheduled to perform with Pakistani ghazal singer Ghulam Ali at a concert at Shanmukhananda Hall on Friday, has a history of heart ailments. In January 1998, he suffered a heart attack, which led him to quit smoking. In October 2007, he was hospitalised following blood circulation problems

He has to perform a live show on friday in mumbai
