Move over wedding, birthing and vampire transformation scenes: There is nothing Twilight fans are looking forward to more than seeing Bella and Edward finally get it on in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 1. Judging by the trailer, the scene will be extremely steamy (yes, that is bed-breaking you see). But according to leading lady Kristen Stewart, she and Robert Pattinson might have made things too hot and heavy the first time around.
In an interview with the British edition of Glamour, the 21-year-old actress says that the MPAA slapped the first cut of Breaking Dawn -- Part 1 with an R rating because the sex scenes were too explicit.
"It was very surreal," says Stewart. "We (originally) got rated R." Sadly for Twilight fans thirsting for a more graphic marriage consummation, that racy cut won't make it to the big screen. "(Director Bill Condon) re-cut it," Stewart admits.
But that doesn't mean the PG-13-rated final product will be chaste -- not by a long shot.
"It was so weird, it didn't even feel like we were doing a Twilight film," Stewart insists. "I was like, 'Bella! What are you doing? Wow! What is happening here?!'"
Though Condon had to tone things down, fans are no doubt crossing their fingers that the original sequence will turn up as a DVD extra. And after they see the film when it hits theaters on Nov. 18, they'll no doubt let their imaginations run wild as to just what Bella and Edward were up to in the marriage bed that got them that R rating the first time around.
Still, Stewart says the between-the-sheets romps weren't the only scenes that were crazy to shoot. The wedding sequence was filmed in the utmost secrecy, something Stewart wasn't used to when making a movie.
"I had to be shrouded in secrecy the entire two days of filming," she explains. "It was crazy... I was on full lockdown, as if I was wearing millions of dollars' worth of diamonds."
