“Rockstar” is the movie produced by Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd, Eros International, and Dhillin Mehta. Imtiaz Ali (of the “Jab We Met”, “Love Aaj Kal” fame) has written the Story and directed this movie.

“Rockstar” features Ranbir Kapoor as Janardan Jakhar / Jordan, Nargis Fakhri as Heer Kaul, Shammi Kapoor as Ustad Jameel Khan, Aditi Rao Hydari as Sheena, Kumud Mishra as Khatana, Piyush Mishra as Dhingra, Shernaz Patel as Neena Kaul and many others.

The Cinematography of this movie “Rockstar” is done by Anil Mehta. Aarti Bajaj has performed the Editing. Sound works are undertaken by Dileep Subramaniam. This movie is distributed by Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd and Eros International. 

Story: 

Janardan Jakhar (Ranbir Kapoor) is a middle class young guy. He is born and brought up in locales of Pitampura in Delhi. Though, he is from average middle class, he has very big dreams. He aims to be a Rockstar like Jim Morrison!

The biggest hurdle for him is the circle, in which he lives in. Most of the times, he faces teases, embarrassing humiliations. One fine day, he realizes that, almost all the leading Rock stars have experienced one thing common in their lives. It is none other than Tragedy, very painful heartbreaks and so on. But, ultimately, they achieve their dreams.

The most unique thing, which Janardhan misses in his life, is tragedy. He feels that, it might become difficult for him to become a Rockstar, unless and until something very tragic happens in his life.

Heer Kaul (Nargis Fakhri) is the most beautiful Diva in that College campus. She has all the aspects like she is beautiful, talented, arrogant, rich, and unavailable. She has broken the hearts of many people. Janardan believes that, she will break his heart too.

Therefore, Janardhan plans to woo her, and in the process, wants his hearts to be broken by her. He sets out to woo Heer, with the sole object of getting his heart broken by her.

In short, “Rockstar” is the story of the young guy, who sheds off his identity of Janardan to become Jordan. He faces almost all the biggest happiness and sorrows in his life.

Janardan sees everything in his life. Though, he is from a normal College guy background, he reaches the peak of success, by becoming an International Rockstar. How he achieves his dreams and what happens after that, forms the remaining part of the movie and the crux of the Story.
