Well, have you guys ever heard of the man called, Harold Camping? If you don't know him, google! Click here. (I'm making it easy for you guys, hoho... )
Anyway, back to the story. So, he predicted of the return of Jesus Christ and the end of the world as we know it. He predicted,
His 2011 end times prediction was that on May 21, 2011 Jesus Christ would return to Earth, the righteous would fly up to heaven, and that there would follow five months of fire, brimstone and plagues on Earth, with millions of people dying each day, culminating on October 21, 2011 with the end of the world. He had previously predicted judgement days on May 21, 1988, and September 6, 1994. - WikipediaInteresting enough, May 21st of this year came and passed. October 21? Same result.
Well, this is not the first man to have ever come up with predictions such as that. There are many others that seem to predict the end of our time.
To begin with, does the Mayan and the Mayan calendar ring a bell? The history and backgrounds of the Mayans reached a new height after the released of the movie, 2o12. In the movie, everything comes to an end and mankind has to start all over again after that - after a global destruction as mother earth strikes back.
"Both the Hopis and Mayans recognize that we are approaching the end of a World Age... In both cases, however, the Hopi and Mayan elders do not prophesy that everything will come to an end. Rather, this is a time of transition from one World Age into another. So, if you guys want to read more about them, click here. =)
The message they give concerns our making a choice of how we enter the future ahead. Our moving through with either resistance or acceptance will determine whether the transition will happen with cataclysmic changes or gradual peace and tranquility.
The same theme can be found reflected in the prophecies of many other Native American visionaries from Black Elk to Sun Bear."
— Joseph Robert Jochmans
But the Mayans and Mr. Harold Camping here are some of the predictors. Many before came before and between them.
Take a look at this website. It provides us with a very good summary of these predictors. Click.
In any case, if it is the end of the world, I believe (and this is just my honest opinion) that God would not warn beforehand. It can happen anytime and we would not even know about it.
And I have been living with my Muslim friends and based on my observation, the Muslims also believe in the end of the world - called kiamat and there are signs showing that we are coming to an end.
Well, anyway in the mean time, whether you're religious or you're agnostic or you're an atheist, just live well and wishing you guys all the best of luck! =D
But just a quick question, if you ever know TODAY is your last day, what would you with your last remaining hours? What would you do?
Happy Christmas!
& of course,
Happy New Year everybody!
