3D porn film 'sells thousands of tickets' - watch YouTube trailer

3D porn film Sex And Zen: Extreme Ecstasy is about to open in Hong Kong and has already sold thousands of tickets, with people preparing to travel from mainland China to see it.

The huge success of 3D Sex And Zen: Extreme Ecstasy has catapulted its stars to worldwide fame, in particular the three leading actresses Vonnie Lui, Yukiko Suo and Saori Hara.

Loosely based on Li Yus seventeen century classical Chinese erotic literature, The Carnal Prayer Mat, the raunchy Category III film, directed by Hong Kong director Christopher Sun Lap Key, chronicles the story of a young man who, after being introduced to the erotic world of a duke, realises his ex-wife is the love of his life and features orgies, swinging and some very graphic sex scenes.

Vonnie Lui Hoi Yan is a Hong Kong busty porn star. Yukiko Suo and Saori Hara are both Japanese AV idols (adult video idol). An AV idols work in the pornographic business, often both as actress as well as model with the video performances ranging from just the idol doing chores in bikinis around their house to hardcore porn.

Since the dawn of the AV industry in the early 1980s, hundreds of AV idols have debuted every year, with an average career span of about a year, appearing in five or ten videos during that time.

Notable AV idols have careers spanning several years, have a high general public recognition, or make a significant impact on the industry in some other manner.

The line between “adult” and family entertainment in Japan is not as clear-cut as it is in some other countries. A celebrity may appear in AVs after already having established a career in mainstream television. Also, it is not rare for a popular AV actress to go on to mainstream celebrity. A background in porn is not necessarily a skeleton in the cupboard anymore. In some cases, its a career move.

The AV, or “Adult Video” market is a major industry in Japan, reportedly worth about 400 billion per year. In 1992, it was reported that over 11 AVs were being made every day by over 70 production companies in Tokyo alone. The AV market was estimated to make up about 30 percent of Japan’s video rentals. It was estimated in 1994 that, between legal and illegal videos, around 14,000 AVs a year were being made in the country, in contrast to about 2,500 in the United States.

AV actresses are usually recruited by scouts in Tokyo neighborhoods such as Roppongi, Shinjuku and Shibuya. These scouts are affiliated with talent agencies who then hire the actresses to the AV production companies. Some women wishing to appear in AVs apply to the production companies, but they are usually referred to the talent agencies. The production companies are typically charged 1.5 million or more for an actress to appear in a video. AV actresses make between 200,000 and 4 million yen per video.

Steve Scott, president of Third World Media, an importer of Japanese adult movies to the United States, estimated a top-tier AV star could make up to nearly 36 million for an eight picture deal.

AV fans are invited to follow the progress of a prominent AV actress’ career over several video appearances. In her AV debut video, the actress is introduced as a “new face,” and her inexperience is played up in interviews preceding the modeling and sex scenes. Following this debut video, the AV audience follows the actress’ journey through sexual awakening, and her eventual specialization, after about five AV appearances, in a specific genre such as lesbianism or SM.

Once the actress has established herself as a mature AV star, she has the options of continuing into some of the more outrageous AV genres, retiring, or, sometimes, re-emerging under a new name as a “new face.” With the immense publicity surrounding 3D Sex And Zen: Extreme Ecstasy, there has been a great deal of googling for more information and photos of Yukiko Suo and Saori Hara. I will
feature these two AV stars in my next two articles. So stay tuned!

Katrina's 'Chikni chameli' set eyeballs popping

After Sheila, Munni, Shalu and Jalebi Bai, 'Chikni Chameli' is the latest item bomb in Bollywood. Katrina Kaif has outdone her 'Sheila ki jawani' act in the song, and "Agneepath" director Karan Malhotra believes she has done full justice to it.
"I think the way the song was made, it was so wonderful, that only a topmost actress could have done justice to the song. And as far as Katrina is concerned, her USP is that she has never been seen in any film in that kind of zone that 'Chikni Chameli' is in. So which is why she also stands out in that atmosphere and that is why the song is catching a lot of eyeballs," the director said at the music premiere of "Agneepath" at a radio station here.
The men behind the song are composer-brothers Ajay-Atul, primarily known for their work in Marathi films and serials. "Chikni chameli" is a song inspired by their own Marathi song "Kombadi palali".
No wonder Malhotra denies that the song draws inspiration from any other item number.
"No, no girl inspired us for 'Chikni chameli'," said Malhotra.
Meanwhile, Katrina's fast, rhythmic 'Chikni chameli' act has set many eyeballs popping. "Agneepath", a remake of the 1990 film of the same name, is set for release Jan 26 next year.
It stars Hrithik Roshan in the lead with Sanjay Dutt, Priyanka Chopra and Rishi Kapoor in key roles.

The Pakistani actress was chilling in a Mumbai hotel which explains her ‘disappearance’

Veena Malik has pulled off another stunt. After being in the news for two days for ‘vanishing’ from the sets of her film, she has now been found’, safe and sound! The actress was staying in an upscale hotel in Juhu recovering from an illness.

Yesterday Masala! reported that Veena had mysteriously disappeared from the sets of her upcoming movie ‘Mumbai 125 kilometres’. Her vanishing act gave director Hemant Madhukar and her business manager Prateek Mehta quite a scare. Both of them claimed that they had been desperately trying to reach Veena but her mobile had been unreachable. A police complaint too was lodged thereafter.

But far from facing threats or being kidnapped, Veena in fact, was relaxing and recuperating at a hotel. Apparently, the actress had endured a gruelling shoot for the movie in which she spent nearly 18 hours in a bathtub. The water had been very cold and she fell ill. Veena then left the shoot, checked into a Juhu hotel and called a doctor. The doctor gave her a high dose of antibiotics which made her sleep for 30 hours unaware of the uproar her strange disappearance had caused.

It was even said that the 28-year-old Pakistani actress had left Mumbai in a burqa because her visa in India had expired. But as it turns out, all’s well with her world.
What’s your next stunt going to be Veena?

Why smart girls play dumb!

The Silly Me Syndrome (SMS) is not a new affliction. Most women, at some point in life, have fallen prey to it. Rachel Fernandes tells you more.

Picture this scene: You walk up to that dream dude, introduce yourself and you two hit it off really well. You think, 'Wow! am I lucky or what?'. Smooth sailing till now. Then bam, right out of the blue he makes a factually incorrect statement or pronounces a simple word wrong or looks at you absolutely baffled when you mention a well-known classic that happens to be your favourite book or movie. But instead of correcting him, you play dumb and pretend it never happened.

And before you relegate this incident as a piece of fiction ladies, stop and think. At some point or the other, you, too, will have experienced a similar incident and reacted in the very same manner. Yes, SMS or Silly Me Syndrome, is a common female affliction, Unfortunately, it could be quite damaging to one's well being and mental health. So when exactly does SMS affect women? Put simply, it happens when a woman chooses to play dumb just so that she doesn't offend the man she is out with or the man in her life - boyfriend or husband. Interestingly, there is no start age for this syndrome because women learn to adjust to the intellectual gap from an early age. However, once in a relationship or when they are ready to get into one, the desire to get one from the opposite sex to like them becomes a growing distraction.

"There is a dearth of quality men around and these women know that if they play smart, they will not have as many men as they would like. Hence, they are willing to compromise," explains Varkha Chulani, clinical psychologist and counsellor. According to her, this symptom is not restricted to just dating, one also finds women cutting themselves short in the corporate world. "They'll compromise and allow the man to have an upper hand so as to not lose him, especially if she realises that he has a fragile ego. This is mainly a relationship-saving tactic," Varkha says. According to clinical psychologist and psychotherapist Seema Hingorrany, it's mainly insecure women who fall prey to this syndrome. "Though these women know they are intelligent, they are aware of the fact that they are lonely. Also, in an earlier experience, the woman would probably have been told that the man is intimidated by her knowledge, position, behaviour, etc. Hence, even though they find it difficult to play dumb, they do it. They refrain from discussing the kind of books they read or the movies they watch or some serious topic that they know the guy won't be able to comment on. Many a times, family members pressurise women into not showing their smart side just to impress a potential 'good catch'," she says.

Many women have a pre-conceived notion of what qualities their life partner should possess. And often, if the man does not fit the bill, he's out of reckoning. However, experts warn that while average intelligence is a must, one should not set very high benchmarks and expect the other person to be a replica of themselves. As for the effects of this behaviour, Varkha says that if a woman is doing it to save a relationship, it will not affect her. "However, if she feels compelled to do it way too often, she will eventually begin feeling bitter and resentful," she adds.

Seema adds that women who are constantly forced to downplay their smartness and intelligence are always stressed out and in a high anxiety mode as they are fully aware that they cannot be their actual selves. "That apart, in the search for intellectual stimulation and satisfaction, they may end up cheating," she adds.

Achala Sachdev:
It's quite ridiculous if you can't be yourself with your partner and personally, I feel it's an unrealistic way to live. Yes, I've seen these experiences happening among my friends. But I think it's deceit, both to oneself and to the other person.

Gauhar Khan:
Intelligence is the first and most important thing about a man that attracts me. Thankfully, I've not had this problem of having to act dumb or silly to impress a man. Fingers crossed.

Candice Pinto:
I'm sure the experience differs from woman to woman. As for me, I'm quite straightforward in nature. I'd rather say what I have to now, than wait till it could be too late. Also, I believe that first impressions are the lasting ones and hence, I'd rather let him know of my intelligence in the beginning than lead him on and then have to dump him.

The actor-director saw it as a last resort to explain the story of 'Don'

What can one say about Farhan Akhtar? A few months ago he was all over the place, creating a splash as an actor in his home production ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’. His turn as the sensitive advertising executive and poet Imran won him a lot of fans and critical and commercial appreciation. Now, he is back in a new avatar – as the producer-director of the much-talked-about ‘Don 2’.

The actor-filmmaker-singer was much sought after at the current Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) where he charmed audiences and the press alike with his chilled out, easy-going attitude. Masala.com caught up with Farhan for a quick chat. For more on our encounter with the hottie, read the next issue of Masala! that hits the stands on December 20, 2011.

You recently mentioned that sequels to an action thriller often “have to be made”. Why do you think so? Well, it depends on the story and whether you have something substantial to say. A sequel also is often the demand of the script. Your audiences should be interested in knowing more about the fate of the characters – how they have evolved and what they are going to do next. If there are interesting answers to these questions, then a film warrants a sequel.

You have set a large portion of the film in Germany. What made you choose this location? I had travelled to Berlin in 2007 and found it fascinating. I felt that it would be a good place to set the sequel in. Not many Indians are aware of the destination and I believed it would be a good idea to explore it further. Moreover, we had an extremely professional and helpful crew. The city had everything that an action thriller needed.

Shah Rukh Khan has an amazing fan following in Germany. How do you explain this? Indeed, he does! In fact, I am myself amazed at Shah Rukh’s popularity in Germany and several other countries of Europe. I am sure even he can’t explain it. I remember shooting in sub-zero temperatures and there would be a crowd gathered just to see him and wave to him. In the film he speaks in German and it will be fascinating to gauge the reaction.

In a sequel, often there is a temptation to repeat the successful elements of the first part be in songs or action sequences. Do you think that takes away from the originality? Thematically, there will be similarities between the first and second part. But the challenge is to make the sequel connect to the first part yet make it different. We have tried it in the music where the title song has a very familiar feel to the number in ‘Don’. As for action sequences, well, there are only a few things a person can do with his bare hands and legs!

How do you think ‘Don 2’ compares to Hollywood action thrillers? I don’t think there should be any comparisons. This is a completely different story with its own unique set of characters. I have not even been influenced by any Hollywood film while making it. But I am a huge fan of western thrillers. My personal favourites are ‘The Die Hard’ series or a ‘Bourne Ultimatum’. American action films are exciting, they come straight to the point and has no frills. Bollywood movies have their own charm.

How did you come up with the idea of a comic book to tell the story of Don? The book should release sometime in mid-December. I had this idea to make a prequel to ‘Don’ initially – to tell the story of how he becomes what he is. But then it didn’t work out. However, the idea lingered. And I thought of settling it once and for all. And this was the result!

Tom Cruise, Paula Patton vow Mumbai fans

Indo-Asian News Service
Mumbai, December 05, 2011
In perhaps a first for Bollywood, Hollywood star Tom Cruise was Sunday accorded a red carpet treatment at a special pre-release screening of his forthcoming movie Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, over a fortnight before its global release December 21. Wearing a blue shirt and jeans,

keeping in mind Mumbai's warm weather, Cruise was at his charismatic best, even as his host and co-star, Anil Kapoor, beamed with pride at the Imax Cinema in Wadala in central Mumbai.

Tom Cruise's co-star Paula Patton spent nearly two hours wowing and directly interacting with their fans, happily signing autographs, accepting their good wishes for the movie, which nearly 1,500 of them watched this afternoon and came out virtually shell-shocked from the movie hall.

"I have wanted to come here all my life. I kept telling Anil, a great actor and an incredible host, ‘I promise you I will come to India’. Yesterday when we were at the Taj Mahal, I told him ‘You have to pinch me. I can’t believe I am here'," said a smiling Cruise.

Besides Budapest, Moscow and Dubai, Mumbai is one of the cities where parts of the film have been shot, though much of the location has been recreated in Dubai and Vancouver.

Asked about his experience in India, Cruise said he met Kapoor and became friends with him when he gave away the Golden Globe Award to the Slumdog Millionaire team, which included the Indian actor.

At the time, Kapoor invited him to India, and Cruise accepted it, promising to visit at some point.

Asked Whether he was familiar with Indian cinema, Cruise said: “Yes, I know some of them. You make so many movies. I don’t know all of them. But, you have made many great films, and have great film-makers and actors here.”

Co-star Patton appeared sharper when she quickly named Aishwarya Rai when asked what stars she was familiar with, and mentioned Monsoon Wedding as her favourite Indian movie.

“This is the first time a top Hollywood star and producer not only screened his forthcoming movie for an Indian audience pre-release, but remained personally present to interact with his fans,” said an official from the host team.

Bejawada (2011) (Telugu)

Release date: 1 December 2011
123telugu.com Rating : 2.75/5
Director : Vivek Krishna
Producer : Ramgopal varma, Kiran Kumar Koneru
Music Director : Amar Mohile, Tutul
Starring: Naga chaitanya, Amala paul, Anjana sukhani, Prabhu, Mukuldev, Abhimanyu singh, subhaleka sudhakar, Kota srinivasa rao, ahuti Prasad, Brahmanandam

Naga Chaitanya has come up with Bejawada, an action drama that has been directed by Vivek Krishna and produced by Ram Gopal Varma & Kiran Kumar Koneru. The movie is set in the city of Vijayawada and there are some high expectations on the movie. Let us see how the movie stacks up.

Story :

Kaali Prasad (Prabhu) is a major force in the city of Vijayawada. He is immensely powerful and people come to him for help when all else is lost. Vijay Krishna (Mukul Dev) and Jai Krishna ( Ajay ) are two brothers who work for him and are very close to Kali. This is extremely hard for Kali’s brother Shankar (Abhimanyu Singh) to digest and he sets about scheming to grab power. On a separate note Shiva Krishna (Naga Chaitanya), who is the brother of Vijay Krishna and Jai Krishna, is a college student who is in love with Geetanjali (Amala Paul). She happens to be the daughter of Police Commissioner Adi Vishnu (Ahuti Prasad).

A sequence of events unfold and in the game for power, a series of murders follow. Shiva Krishna is suddenly thrust into the murky world of factionism and power struggles. A revenge drama follows and the rest of the story is about how Shiva Krishna sets about cleaning up the mess and correcting the balance of power.

Plus Points :

Naga Chaitanya is a revelation in this movie. He has done a good job and he looks dashing in white Khaddar. His rugged looks and mannerisms are perfect for the character of Shiva Krishna. He has done his job well. Amala Paul looks good and she is extremely sensuous in the song ‘Adagaka Nannemi’, but she hardly has any scope to do anything else.

Prabhu is good as the powerful Kali Prasad. Mukul Dev and Ajay have done a good job as the trusted aides of Kali.Kota Srinivas is apt as the scheming politician Ramana. Brahmanandam’s spoof on the Raktha Charitra scooter entry scene of Vivek Oberoi is hilarious. Subhaleka Sudhakar is good in the brief role of Sagar Raju.

Some of the camera angles and the innovative ways in which people end up killing each other will appeal to hardcore action buffs. Anjana Sukhani sizzles in the item number.

Minus Points :

Abhimanyu Singh, who ends up as the main villain, fails to bring out the extreme evil atmosphere that he created in Raktha Charitra. For the hero to be elevated, the villain needs to be equally powerful and sinister. Sadly, this is not the case with Bejawada. The first half is spent in setting up the stage for the hero’s elevation in the second half, but the poor etching of the villain’s character does not allow this to happen. Direction is the biggest drawback for the movie.

The scenes lack emotional depth and there is no conviction in story telling.

When a major powerful character of Vijayawada is brutally murdered, the very next scene you would expect is not that of a father lecturing his daughter on her romantic endeavours. There are no scenes of despair. No scenes of the fallen don’s followers swearing vengeance. Instead, the movie abruptly shifts to the father daughter lecture. There are many such illogical sequences in the movie.

The comedy track between Brahmanandam (Sketch Gopi) and M.S.Narayana (Veera Venkata Durga Prasad) appears forced and does not succeed except for the Raktha Charitra spoof scene.

Technical Departments :

Dialogues are a major handicap. They are not sharp and powerful enough. Cinematography is ok  in places. Some of the camera angles are good and will remind of you of a strong RGV influence. A few fight sequences have been choreographed well. Dances are ok but there is really not much scope for them in this story.

Editing is poor and it is extremely jerky. Background music is a big let down. A powerful and stirring background score would have really elevated the movie.

Verdict:

Bejawada is a movie that could have been a genuinely good offering but it is let down by some poor direction and a lack of conviction in story telling. The villain’s character just fizzles out and the intense rivalry that is expected in such situations is just not there. The movie has some good performances from Naga Chaitanya and Mukul Dev along with a few others, but it might not be enough to overcome the other handicaps in the movie. Looks like Naga Chaitanya needs to wait for ‘Autonagar Surya’ for a break as a mass hero.

Note: The story and the picturization of the movie has nothing to do with the Nehru and Ranga camps as was speculated before release.

Vikram's film as Veedinthe in Telugu

Vikram has already made it clear. "I have taken audience on an emotional journey in Ravanan and Deiva Thirumagal. Now I would like to make my fans feel good with my 'gym boy' persona in Rajapattai, which is a powerful entertainer."

Directed by Suseenthiran, Veedinthe is a much-touted entertainer, ready to hit the marquee on Dec. 16.  "These days we read in newspapers on incidents of land grabbing and the police action on the wrong-doers. This is the basic knot of Veedinthe," the makers have revealed.

Produced by Prasad V Potluri of PVP Cinema, 'Rajapattai' has Deeksha Seth opposite the Chiyaan. For the first time, Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing music for a Vikram-starrer and the music composer is upbeat about it.

Vikram looks convincing in the role and he has made the persona of the gym boy his own. To further reach the audience in a more effective way, the actor has released a string of mobile apps across all platforms. He is the second actor in South India to do it, after our very own Mahesh Babu.

The film is titled as Rajapattai in Tamil.  The film presents Vikram in many avatars.  K Vishwanath is playing father to Vikram.

With the plot revolving around the ubiquitous criminal phenomenon of land encroachment, Veedinthe has come to be seen as a potential action film as well.

Among the other highlights, the film has Shriya Saran and Reema Sen in cameo roles.

Rathinirvedam (2011)

Menaka Sureshkumar produced Revathy Kalaamandhir’s TK Rajeevkumar directed Rathinirvedam is a super hit. The film a remake of Padmarajan-Bharathan 1978 classic by the same name has turned out to be gold 33 years after it was remade by Sureshkumar.
