Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar has rubbished reports that his film "Heroine" is inspired by actress Manisha Koirala's life.
"Heroine's not inspired by Manish Koirala's life. It's a figment of imagination. People should check facts before creating such stories," Bhandarkar wrote on his Twitter page.
It was reported that the film, starring Kareena Kapoor in the lead, was inspired by the ups and downs in Manisha's personal and professional life.
"Heroine" is one of Bhandarkar's most ambitious project, which has been plagued with hurdles. The director was left in a fix after Aishwarya Rai backed out of the film due to her pregnancy, after which Kareena was roped in.
Later the films dialogues went missing after dialogue writer Niranjan Iyengar's laptop was stolen from his car.
Thankfully, the film is now on track.
