A day at the Racing track

Well, I spent a day at the Sepang International Circuit watching a race last weekend.
How was it?
IT WAS FUN!

It was my first experience watching live races, and I must admit, it was really making me excited watching the cars driving so fast it was so loud to hear!

As I had a special pass on, I was allowed to go to the track and see the car up-close! Cool! Seriously cool!

This one looks like a F1 race car. But Ferrari was wayyy in front when the race was on.

The Ferrari won. It was miles away from the other cars. How did the Italian able to invent such cars?

I love this car's design because it's black.

Well, sorry for my unprofessional commentary on the race and sports cars in general. I don't know much about them anyway. I was invited by my friend to attend the race. I had to grab the opportunity to watch the race myself and I'm glad I did. It was worth it!

Christmas ideas

Shalom shalom!

How are you guys doing? Well, one thing Christmas is just around the corner! Am I excited? Heaven Yes! So, for those of you my dearest readers, who are celebrating Christmas, how are your preparation so far?

Have you been attending services at church? Have you bought enough presents for your loved ones? Have you decorated your house yet? Have you decided on the type of foods you want to cook?

Jeez, there are so many things that needed to be done, at least before Christmas eve!

Now, for this post, I am just sharing some pictures that I found on the internet - could be a good thing to add to your preparation...

Now, I know you can get these ideas all over internet. It's not that hard anymore compare it to the last time we didn't have this as our leverage. But I just want to share with you guys a little something here - if you notice, I tend to show you the pictures gives the sense of traditional christmas decoration with a little bit of modern touch in the design.

Although I do like progress, but I'm an old-school person and being that, I prefer the traditional way of doing things. Thus why,

Youth defined: Shape our Future

Last weekend, I was attending an event called "Youth defined: Shape your future" held at Palace of golden horses. It's an event where youths are invited to attend and they would contribute ideas and proposing projects to assist the government in improving or helping out with the government's ETP & GTP programme.

So, during the event, the CEO of PEMANDU (the driving committee of the ETP/GTP programme) was invited to share his views and updates on the programme with the participants. The CEO is Idris Jala, the former CEO of Malaysian Airlines and what makes me more interested is, him being a Sarawakian like me!

I like what they are doing over there in PEMANDU. They provide professionalism and corporate-like management in the government.


But the talks by Idris Jala - I believe a very good thing. It provided the youths are very critical and outspoken what's actually happening in the government and with the programme. And that ETP and GTP are not simply a waste of money but something worth doing.


and all the ideas, suggestions and recommendations were compiled and presented to the Prime Minister on Monday.


Although I might not like the government that much - well, a lot of issues are not solved and the way things are being implemented just don' bode well with myself, but to see efforts coming from both side - government and opposition - really show a good sign and positive development for our youths in contributing directly to the nation's growth now and the future.

Well, on the other hand, I've pitched my project "Ordinary to Awesome" during the event. The project will start in January, so I'll be updating regularly what's going to happen then!

Hi guys, today I had an interesting evening here in Kuala Lumpur. I was earlier today invited by myHarapan [ the youth foundation ] to a networking event where representatives of Yunus Social Business all the way from Germany were giving talks and share their experience and know-how on social business. Rather than social enterprise, social business is where it is non-loss and non-dividend.

It is here where you are maximizing profits and the profits are rolled over so that you can use the capital accumulated/raised/gained to assist and help contribute in developing the society's economic development.
Where there is strong society, would lead to strong economy.

I thought it was rather interesting. I was not clear beforehand of the purpose of the function, but I am glad I attended the event. It was insightful, to say the least. I have often been curious and passionate with social business or as they call it, becoming social entrepreneurs.

But wait, you do know who is Muhammad Yunus, right? He's the Founder of Grameen Bank [wikipedia: Grameen Bank. Click here!].

What makes it more interesting, is the fact that you are practicing capitalism [Capitalism, to me, is a way of business] but rather than capitalism as portrayed by the pessimists that it spurs evil and greed, in this context, to my understanding, capitalism is being leveraged as a mean to promote social business.

When you've decided to pursue social business instead of business which only emphasized on yourself and profits, you are not becoming NGO or charities. You are making money but your focus is not placed on you, but the people and the world around you.

After the representatives had completed their presentation, I had the opportunity to network with other local social entrepreneurs who have their fair share of contribution to this country. I am very impressed..indeed! I am at awe and makes me even more enthusiastic about implementing mine more aggressively.

As for mine, I'll be updating the project's progress and updates through one of the links at the top [shall be provided later, by next week! - Promise!].

Google's 13th Birthday Doodle Celebrate

Happy Birthday Google's. Google is celebrating its 13 years of success!
We all know that Google is the most famous and the best search engine above all other search engines. It also has a lots of apps, groups, images, videos, maps, gmail and features that are very useful to us viewers and bloggers.

This year, Google was successful launched Google+ which is a lots of people's from different social media sites like (Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Youtube)  transferred their profiles, information and trusts to Google.

Google has been through our lives for 13 years and it really helped us technically. When we have some questions in our life, questions from school, Colleges, our Professional work, answering our assignments, researching important things, reminders for the events and contests and a lots more! It has been a globally teacher, helper, our dictionary, encyclopedia, doctor, parent and a friend to us.

Today, as a celebration of their 13 years in business Google Doodle features an image of Google with a birthday cake on it. How cute is that? Google Doodle never fails us to be amazed in every illustrations that they do.

Pakistani Mobile App Wins Global Recognition Animal 101

Pakistani IT industry has marked another record as a Pakistani firm TenPearls has bagged 2nd position and received a $50,000 cash prize at ‘Nokia & AT&T Innovators 2011 Contest’ held recently.

This is the second award TenPearls has received for its mobile app named “Animal 101” within a year in which it competed against more than 800 entrants for top spots.

The first award was the 1st prize that TenPearls received for the uTrack mobile app earlier in 2011 for the same platform in Pakistan.

    

Animal 101 is an interactive application for children and parents alike. It is a learning based application about animals that aims to teach children of 3 to 8 years to learn about animals by engaging them in fun and interactive games.

It was selected in the Trivia and Education category of Nokia and AT&T’s “Calling All Innovators 2011” mobile app and games contest.

The Calling All Innovators 2011 global competition encouraged app and game developers from around the world to submit mobile apps in 17 categories for a chance to share in a total of $10 million in cash and prizes.

TenPearls has plans to launch a number of new feature rich mobile apps in Pakistan for Nokia with an aim to facilitate maximum number of people to find real value and convenience in their mobile experience in line with Nokia’s aim to enable personalized mobile communications.

Imran Aftab, President of TenPearls said that his company is looking forward to building more applications on Nokia’s smart devices and leveraging our relationship for greater business successes.

The Calling All Innovators 2011 Contest used a blend of consumer and expert judging to determine the category winners. The judging was based on total app downloads by consumers and sales totals on Nokia’s Ovi Store.

The exciting times lie ahead.

I've attended the Kursus Asas Keusahawanan (KAKS) a couple of weeks ago, held at Bagan Lalang, Sepang from the 11th until the 18th of June. It was loadsa fun and what a whole week of exciting new discoveries.

What held me more intrigued about the trip/course was that it was practical and the end result of attending the course was the certificate that I get that would enable me to apply for loans etc from financial institutions to help me with my business ideas. And i have loads of them.

But one in particular is, opening up a restaurant! :)

The hotel in which I stayed was Hotel Seri Malaysia. Okay lah the hotel, but it didn't matter much.And at first when I came to the event on the first day, I only knew a couple of them from the overall attendees, but at the end of the camp, I looked around me were potential business partners. Good ones at that! :)


I had attended many entrepreneurship talks before, courses, you name it but lately, I am more prone, excited and eager to join the ones that offer practicality instead of listening to talks from big corporate players. why?

well, they are big as it is, so there's hardly a chance to strike a business deals with them right, when I am just a beginner in the game.


It was fun ride indeed. A whole week spend over there made me felt quite close to the others who attended and that's when the gold mine was discovered.


I am not saying much yet, but hey, I am going to be a millionaire before 30. So, let's get rolling and wish me luck guys! XD
