The Wedding Photographer

Well, I've got my first job as a wedding photographer!
It's for my good friend's wedding, so when I showed him my works, he was very happy with what I've got to offer.

PHOTOGRAPHY 101 FOR ME. (source)

And seeing that I don't have much experience in professional photography, I'm just trying to cool it by looking at other photographers' works around the internet.

So, after I did a little bit researching, here and there, here's the formula!
Angle + Spontaneous + Not much on pose, more on sincerity + The Energy =
Successful Photography!

Nizam Zailan's Photography

Since the wedding is not until a few months later, I've got some time to practice and practice well!

Apart from wedding, I'm also very keen on babies photography. Love their smells, their cute laughter, their little hands and feet. Aren't they adorable?

What about you?
What do you look for in your wedding or special occasions photographer?

Classic Taiping

So I was Taiping, Perak recently. I was invited to a friend's wedding, thus my friends and I took the opportunity to go for a road trip!

As I've never been to Taiping before, it was quite exciting for me personally. And forgive me, there's no picture of the wedding in this post. I figure, I'll use it for another.

But we did go to the Museum and a few other attractions available over there. I love the way of life that I observed - so relaxing and can I just say, therapeutic?

And as the place was not big, so we had the time we needed to drive around the small town. I even had my haircut there for just RM 5.00!

Whoa!

And I like the picture of this school. The architecture of the building in general, reminds me a lot of the building structures in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Notice the similarities?

Anyway,

Somehow, my short trip to Taiping has got me thinking seriously about moving out of the city. Maybe in a few years time. But I know where I want to raise my kids later, not in the big cities.

And this is too delicious to describe! Love it!
Well, have an awesome Monday darlings!

Race A + Race B + Race C = AWESOME Results!

Got the news today that my friends from University of Memorial, Canada just won the Advancing Canadian Entrepreneurship (ACE) National Competition. These are some of the most awesome young entrepreneurs that I've met.

I had the opportunity to listen to their stories a few years back and they really are a bunch of enthusiastic and energetic young people.

There are a lot of things that we can learn from one another, albeit our background differences. If we are to only mingle and mix with the people who only have the same skin color and faith as well as speaking the same language, then we are only limiting ourselves to our full potentials.

I am writing this after my friend told me that at his work place, he finds it very depressing and boring because not many his of his kind there.

I had a strong feeling to just kick him and make him realize if you want to move forward, don't limit yourself.

This is part of the reason why I don't like the way the politics in Malaysia is a race-religion based politic. And we even dare consider ourselves coming close to first-world country?
Think again.

A Malaysian among the whites

Over the past few weeks, have been getting quite a headache with the Immigration Process. I thought it would be simple but turns out, there are a lot,and I mean a lot that I need settled.

You guys might be wondering what I'm talking about.

via

Guys, I'm contemplating over a move to Canada. So, at the moment, I'm just considering the fees and documents involved. But nothing concrete for this year. I guess I'll have to make sure everything is in place before making the move.

But wherever I go, Malaysia will always be in my heart.

Teachers, you're awesome!

Now, Do you guys know who she is? Well, I just find her very inspiring. Her name is Rebecca Mieliwocki and she was just recently named the National Teacher of the Year in America.

via

Her down to earth nature, that I find is very impressive can be highlighted through her words here,
“I am not the best teacher in America — there isn’t one,” she said. “All across this nation there are millions of teachers who do the work that I do and many do it better.”
Mieliwocki said that across the country, teachers are working wonders despite the mounting barriers they face.
“Our children are our future and that I have a hand in guiding and shaping that future compels me to make every minute, every lesson, every moment with them count,” she said.
via

Some of the things she did,
  1. She wants to make sure every student that she teaches understand what they are learning by going for awesome, cool school projects.
  2. She created a Facebook page so that parents could be updated 24/7 on what's happening.
  3. She sends weekly memos to parents to let them know what's happening at school.

Well, as this Month is special for our teachers, I like to extend my gratitude and thanks for what you are doing for our children. I do know too, that some of the readers that come here so religiously are teachers themselves. And for that, thank you for your awesome dedication!

Follow the dream!

I've made my decision. At first, I thought of going for it after 2 years, but I guess it's already part of me, I cannot stall any longer. I'm starting my own business with my friends starting this June.

via

And by that I mean, I'm quitting my current job and pursue what my heart really want to do. The nature of the business is to make the people around me feel awesome, it's quite vague, I know. I'll reveal the details later on.

As for now, this is what I'm willing to share.
via

Apart from that, probably you guys still don't know, I really want to open my own restaurant. But the dream has to wait for now. I need to acquire certain amount of capital before starting off with that idea.

Have an awesome Wednesday, everyone!

My dear Uncle

As you know, and I assume you already know by now, I took computer science as my field of study when I was at the University. Although it's not my favourite, but I had fun learning the field and it has indeed help me to understand more about network security, programming languages such as Cobol, Java, C, C++ and a few others.

via
But I am saddened by the fact that some, and even disappointing to say that my uncles and aunties, think of my course is for the lesser people and compare my field with Engineering, for instance, like the sky and the earth.

I would like to just point this message to one of them.

"My dear Uncle,
I would like you, one of these days, to do what I do if you think it's very easy and simple. That only the stupid, fools and weak people take this subject. My dear Uncle, the world today is filled with programming. Just because I'm not working for Shell like you do doesn't mean I don't know that Shell is utilizing programming heavily.

So please, my dear Uncle, stop making a fool out of yourself. Did you know that Engineering require programming too? Have you ever thought of that? I guess not due to your ignorance on the subject matter.

Love,with sarcasm,
Clive

P.S.  You speak of a world of Information Technology often. I begin to doubt whether you understand  when you're saying it out. Shame on you, my dear Uncle."

Dear Uncle, do you understand what you're looking at now?

Do you have people looking down on what you're doing in life as career? I know I have.

What makes you a great person!

So yesterday, the SPM results were announced for our little brothers and sisters who took the papers last year. How was it? Were your faces pale and white, my dear?

via

But regardless of what you managed to get for the exam, fret not! Worry not! Don't kill yourself just because your result wasn't as good as you had hoped for. That's life. Which makes it fun, really. And might I add, exciting?

I have many friends who failed miserably in their studies, but a few years later are already thriving in their careers, earning way much higher than those who scored perfectly in their exams.

The only thing that you need would be:
Discipline + Focused + Determination + Faith

And you can be like the man in the picture above. :)
All the best!

My favourite quote, by Tom Peter.

"Not to worry Paul. In the long run, the A students work for the B students. The C students run the businesses and the D students have the buildings named after them."

Universal Secret

We all have our own plans in life. Yes, a person without a clear goal at the end of the day is like a ship sailing across the ocean without a Captain. So, here's a few things worth sharing with you guys from one of my favourite blogs in the internet!

via
A FEW THINGS I HAVE NOTICED ABOUT SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE LATELY
  1. They are abnormally risk averse.
  2. Future oriented.  They seem to believe, “today is good, tomorrow will be better”.
  3. They are plain spoken.  Direct.  They avoid wishy-washy language.
  4. Determined.  Ten bad things do not mean ten more will follow, more likely, the next time will be a success.
  5. They have a knack for using other peoples money instead of their own.  Their investment is time and belief.  (See 1 and 4).
  6. …but at the same time are more prudent with their own money.  They mostly prefer quality over quantity.
  7. They see situations for what they are instead of what they could be.
  8. They are able to articulate what they want with great specificity.

Sexy Agriculture

via
I am currently working on a social project with a group of friends to help the government in making agriculture "sexy" and appealing to the young people.

Fact:  Our country imports RM 13 Billion worth of foods on average. RM 13 billion and this number could increase due to lack of production domestically.

Thus why it is important that we help to promote agriculture among our young people, to help produce foods as our old people are getting older day by day.

Can you help me by providing ideas, suggestions on how to make agriculture sexy?
The best answer (suggestion, ideas) will walk away with an original perfume by Hugo Boss or Britney Spears worth RM 200-300. (According to current price).

Please.I need ideas!
The best idea will be announced end of April.

If possible,provide me ideas on:
A. Type of programs that make agriculture appealing to them
B. How to make it sexy.

Learning English

For the time being, mastering English should be sufficient to enable us to survive. And it does provide someone with a certain advantage, especially in Malaysia. But capabilities work for the long term.

via

bleh! The French's English is bad. When I was in Germany, the German had it poor too.
So I don't see the fuss to be completely excellent in using the language. But it's important that we at least,  able to get the message across effectively.

How did I learn my English? I did my own learning, mostly. How? I read Harry Potter's Books hundred times over and I can memorize some of the lines in the books very well. Some of the things I did:

A.  I wrote down some of the lines from the books and used them in my conversations.
B.  Because I memorized the books and the number of pages for each book, it helps.
C.  I watch the movies too, to get the pronunciation correct.

Tips:
Pick a book and read it many times over!

Know your way in combining drama with the language. So who cares if you make mistakes along the way?Just know your way out of the mistakes by appearing confident.

People will point out mistakes. But that's all part of learning. So, just do it!

The SPM Students.

So, I see the SPM results are coming out later this month? Finding out about that just got me reminiscing back those good old times when I waited for my result!

via

I'll be excited to hear great news from all of you! But listen and listen carefully (or should I say, read carefully).

Should you not get the results that you have been hoping for, worry not! Life is more about the results you get for the exam.

Life can seem random at times but come to think of it, it's not. It's perfectly positioned in place for each and everyone of us.

Tuesday Anger: Smelly People!

Working with people, aside from having to deal with office-politics and stubborn people, I have one other thing that make the "working-together" concept a freakin' hard deal!

What's that?
via
You are smelly bro! Don't you know that deodorant has been invented by mankind?
And it's not the price of a Ferrari either!
Only a freaking RM10.00 or less!

Footnote:
Lucky I'm working in an air-conditioned room. So the smell would not be that obvious. But the moment I sit next to the smelly people, oh my God, I feel like vomiting. Nauseated, to say the last - apart from the anger of course.

For 2012 onwards, I am starting a new social project for the local community residing in Kuala Lumpur.
My main audience would be single mothers. (I will launch the project in April! Stay tuned!)

No matter how small our contributions seem at times, those small deeds and acts are what making the difference between standing still and complain or do something and make a change.

Make your choice!
