The NEW Spider Man.

Are you as excited as I am?
Well, I'm not exactly that excited though.

Reason being is because I was used to watching Tobey McGuire playing the Spiderman, couldn't take my mind off from not having him as the Spidey.

What do you guys think? Will it be as good?
Let's wait and see, shall we?

Movies:Best of 2011

If you thought Hindi Cinema was just about love stories and dancing around trees, then the releases of 2011, will definitely force you to think again. The year brought on celluloid some brilliant stories and showcased the gamut of talent we have. I would call it the "coming of age" year of sorts - where some movies with thier content, acting, cinematography and graphics competed with Hollywood. Also, 2011 marked the debut of 3D Bollywood films! Here is a list of the top 10 movies of 2011 in the order they were released.

No One Killed Jessica:Inspired by the infamous Jessica Lal murder case of Delhi, this film stars Vidya Balan and Rani Mukherjee in lead roles. Vidya plays Jessica’s sister and Rani portrays a fearless reporter who wants justice. This docu-drama is sensible, sensitive,in your face and thought provoking.

Tanu Weds Manu: Rustic and bucolic in its feel, this rom-com is lighthearted with the right amount of drama, action and one-liners. Even though the audience has a clear idea on how the movie will end, it still keeps the audience engrossed, entertained and amused. You will fall in love with this one.
Pyaar ka Punchnama: It is battle of the sexes in this young, hip movie which stars a host of new faces portraying a variety of identifiable characters. It explores the clichés attached to the genders or gender type-casting in its storyline. Pyaar Ka Punchnama was the surprise package of the year and a definite must watch for the youth!!
Zindagi Naa Milegi Dobara: Watch three friends embark on an once-in-a-lifetime journey to Spain - indulging in some extreme sports while there.Fresh, Fun, Full of witty one-line breathe fresh air to the age old "sseize the moment" philosophy depicted in this movie. The films has Hrithik Roshan,Abhay Deol, Farhan Akhtar and Katrina Kaif in the leads and has some breathtaking cinematography.

Singham: If action-comedy is your forte, then the Tamil remake Singham does the trick. Ajay Devgn plays the though cop unafraid to do some breathtaking stunts and Prakash Raj does justice as the egoistic comic-villain. The storyline is tight and plays up village ethics and value systems as apposed to the convoluted city ideals. Unlike recent remakes, it does not have boorish language nor any gruesome violence sequences - giving it a mass appeal.

Ra.One: is Bollywood's first full fledged sci-fi adventure flick. It marks the onset of India’s new superhero G.One played by none other than Shahrukh Khan. Kareena Kapoor plays the "Chammak Challo" and Arjun Rampal plays the Raavan aka Ra.One. Released during Diwali time, it has an apt story of restoring the reign of good over evil in the world. The film has three versions -Tamil, Telegu and Hindi. Available in 3D

Desi Boyz: join this mad comedy ride with the two hunks - Akshay Kumar and John Abrahim who take to being male escorts in London, when hit by recession. Add Deepika Padukone and Chitrangna Singh to the equation and the mercury starts soaring. Desi Boyz is perhaps the best comedy flick of the year directed by David Dhawan's son Rohit Dhawan.

Bodyguard: starring noneother than Salmaan Khan as the Bodyguard of Kareena Kapoor this is an action-comedy. Salmaan returns after Ready in top form with some memorable one-liners. The storyline has something new to offer and the chemistry between the protagonists is smoking hot!

The Dirty Picture: Film is the biographical account of southern siren Silk Smitha. Her rise to stardom and her ultimate tragic downfall.Viday Balan's unapologetic portrayal of the sex-symbol is commendable. The Dirty Picture has it all - plunging necklines, dumpy hemlines, crassness aglore. However the intentional indecency is supported by a decent, touching storyline so the skin-show doesn't come across as sheer shameless sleaze.Click here to read complete review

Don-2: Stylish in its look, this action-thriller sequel takes the story forward of the indisputable Don played by none other than Shahrukh Khan. Lara Dutta and Priyanka Chopra add oodles of Oomph to the movie.Witty dialogues, stunning locales, greedy henchmen and some gut wrenching stunts are the USP of the film along with the ruthless, greedy Don. Available in 3D.

Other films which deserve a special mention are the films  Ready which along with Bodyguard set the box office ringing, starring one of the most bankable stars of the industry Salmaan Khan. An art house film which made its way to commercial audience and won appreciation was Aamir Khan's Dhobi Ghat. Ranbir Kapoor proved he is rightfully the heir of Raj Kapoor in his acting talent as showcased in the film Rockstar. If you are a die hard Amitabh Bachchan fan then watch him spoof his own movies in the light hearted action-comedy flick Bhuddah hoga..tera Baap. What a year 2011 has been, with these movies, its a wrap!

Veedinthe (Excessively loud Tamil ‘formula’ )

Release date: 30 December 2011
Rating : 2/5
Director : Suseendran
Producer : Prathish,Santhosh
Music Director : Yuvan Shankar Raja
Starring: Vikram, Deesksha Seth, K.Vishwanath,

‘Chiyan’ Vikram has teamed up with Deeksha Seth for this new flick titled ‘Veedinthe’. The film is the Telugu dubbed version of the Tamil film ‘Rajapattai’. Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the music for this film. “Veedinthe’ has released across Andhra Pradesh today, so let us see how the film stacks up.

Story :

The story of Veedinthe revolves around the land grabbing mafia and their atrocities. ‘Fire’ Shankar is a small time movie fighter who wants to strike it big as a villain in movies. He comes across Dakshin Murthy ( K. Vishwanadh) under unexpected circumstances. He takes pity on the helpless old man and takes him home.

It turns out that this helpless old man is actually a rich businessman who is on the run from his own son (Avinash). A prime property in the heart of the city is point of contention. Dakshina Murthy runs an orphanage there in memory of his wife. That plot is coveted by an evil politician Ranganayaki Akka ( Sana ) and Dakshina Murthy’s son and they are ready to do whatever it takes to grab the land. Shankar steps in and what happens next forms the story.

Plus Points :

Vikram looks macho as a fight master. He has built up his physique quite well and his fight sequences have come out well. He has also tried to showcase his considerable acting skills towards the end as he dons various getups within a short span of time.

Deeksha Seth looks innocent and cute as the girl next door but she hardly has any scope in the film. K. Vishwanadh has done a very unique character in this movie. Audience will be stunned to find him in the role of a love guru as people usually expect ‘dignified’ performances from him. Sana has done a good job as the evil politician ‘Akka’.

Minus Points :

The movie has been made with the sole intention of making it a commercial masala film but sadly, things go wrong from frame one. The film is excessively loud and there is absolutely no logic in many of the sequences. There is excessive Tamil flavour in the movie and it is not very easy to digest for the casual movie goer. The comedians and the hero’s friends are all Tamil artistes who will not be familiar to Telugu people.

Screenplay is very poor and narration is bad.Pradeep Rawath has given a routine performance. Music is a major minus for this film. None of the songs will stick with the audience and their timing disrupts the flow of the story.

The romantic track between the hero and the heroine is incomplete and it has been handled very poorly. Deeksha Seth has been wasted in this film. Salon’s performance in the item song fails to impress. She does not have the ‘sizzling’ quality.Entertainment quotient is very low.

Technical Aspects :

Cinematography is ok. Background music is decent and editing is average. Fights sequences are excessively dramatic and have a very ‘arava athi’ style. There is not much to write home about in terms of dances.

Dialogues are average and do the job. Suseendran’s direction is a major minus, considering the kind of films he has made in the past.

Verdict :

‘Veedinthe’ is a film that has been made with the aim of making it a commercial masala offering. But it fails quite badly in its objective. Entertainment quotient for the common movie goer is very low. Excessively dramatic feel and too much Tamil nativity limit the movie’s appeal. There is nothing in the film to get excited about. This is a disappointing film.

Born This Way Lyrics ~ Lady GaGa

Born This Way Lyrics
Lady GaGa

[Intro:]
It doesn't matter if you love him, or capital H-I-M
Just put your paws up
'cause you were born this way, baby

[Verse:]
My mama told me when I was young
We are all born superstars
She rolled my hair and put my lipstick on
In the glass of her boudoir

"There's nothing wrong with loving who you are"
She said, "'Cause he made you perfect, babe"
"So hold your head up girl and you'll go far,
Listen to me when I say"

[Chorus:]
I'm beautiful in my way
'Cause God makes no mistakes
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born this way
Don't hide yourself in regret
Just love yourself and you're set
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born this way

[Post-chorus:]
Oh there ain't no other way
Baby I was born this way
Baby I was born this way
Oh there ain't no other way
Baby I was born this way
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born this way

Don't be a drag ‒ just be a queen [x3]
Don't be!

[Verse:]
Give yourself prudence
And love your friends
Subway kid, rejoice your truth
In the religion of the insecure
I must be myself, respect my youth

A different lover is not a sin
Believe capital H-I-M (Hey hey hey)
I love my life I love this record and
Mi amore vole fe yah (Love needs faith)

[Repeat chorus + post-chorus]

[Bridge:]
Don't be a drag, just be a queen
Whether you're broke or evergreen
You're black, white, beige, chola descent
You're Lebanese, you're orient
Whether life's disabilities
Left you outcast, bullied, or teased
Rejoice and love yourself today
'cause baby you were born this way

No matter gay, straight, or bi,
Lesbian, transgendered life,
I'm on the right track baby,
I was born to survive.
No matter black, white or beige
Chola or orient made,
I'm on the right track baby,
I was born to be brave.

[Repeat chorus + post-chorus]

[Outro/refrain:]
I was born this way hey!
I was born this way hey!
I'm on the right track baby
I was born this way hey!
I was born this way hey!
I was born this way hey!
I'm on the right track baby
I was born this way hey!

[Fade away:]
Same DNA, but born this way.
Same DNA, but born this way.

If you get what I get, what would you say?
She wax it all off, Mr.Miyagi
And them suicide doors, Hari Kari

[Chorus: Chris Brown]
Look at me now, look at me now
Oh, I'm getting paper
Look at me now

'Cause I'm killing every nigga that try to be on my shit
Better cuff your chick if you with her, I can get her

But since we talking about my dick
All of you haters say hi to it

[Verse 3: Busta Rhymes]
Ayo Breezy
Let me show you how to keep the dice rolling
When you're doing that thing over there homie
Let's go!
'Cause I'm feeling like I'm running
And I'm feeling like I gotta get away, get away, get away
Better know that I don't and I won't ever stop
'Cause you know I gotta win everyday day, day
See they don't really wanna pop me
Just know that you never flop me
And I know that I can be a little cocky
You ain't never gonna stop me
Every time I come a nigga gotta set it, then I gotta go, and then I gotta get it
Then I gotta blow, and then I gotta shudder that any little thing that nigga think he be doing
'Cause it doesn't matter, 'cause I'm gonna dadadada
Then I'm gonna murder every thing and anything a badaboom a badabing
I gotta do a lot of things, to make it clearer to a couple niggas
That I'm always winning and I gotta get it again, and again, and again
And I be doing it to death and now I move a little foul
A nigga better call a ref, and everybody knows my style
And niggas know I'm the the best when it come to doing this
And I be banging on my chest, and I bang in the east, and I'm banging in the west
And I come to give you more and I will never give you less
You will hear it in the street or you can read it in the press
Do you really wanna know what's next? Let's go
See the way we on and we all up in the race and you know
We gotta go, don't try to keep up with the pace
We struggling and hustling and sending it and getting it
And always gotta do it take it to another place
Gotta taste it and I gotta grab it
And I gotta cut all through his traffic
Just to be at the top of the throne
Better know I gotta have it, have it

[Chorus: Chris Brown]
Look at me now, look at me now
Oh, I'm getting paper
Look at me now
Oh, look at me now
Yeah, fresher than a motherfucker

[Verse 4: Lil Wayne]
Man fuck these bitch ass niggas, how y'all doin'?
I'm Lil Tunechi, I'm a nuisance, I go stupid, I go dumb like the 3 stooges
I don't eat sushi, I'm the shit, no I'm pollution, no substitution
Got a bitch that play in movies in my Jacuzzi, pussy juicy
I never gave a fuck about a hater, got money on my radar
Dress like a skater, got a big house, came with an elevator
You niggas ain't eatin', fuck it, tell a waiter
Marley said, "Shoot 'em", and I said, "Okay"
If you wanted bullshit then I'm like olay
I don't care what you say, so don't even speak
Your girlfriend a freak like Cirque Du Soleil
That's word to my flag, and my flag red
I'm out of my head, bitch I'm outta my mind, from the bottom I climb
You ain't hotter than mine, nope, not on my time and I'm not even trying
What's poppin' Slime? Nothin' five, and if they trippin' fuck 'em five
I ain't got no time to shuck and jive, these niggas as sweet as pumpkin pie
Ciroc and sprite on a private flight,
Bitch I've been tight since "Guiding light",
And my pockets right, and my diamonds white
And my momma's nice and my daddy's dead
You faggots scared 'cause I'm too wild, been here for a while
I was like fuck trial I puts it down
I'm so Young Money, if you got eyes look at me now, bitch

[Chorus: Chris Brown]
Look at me now, look at me now
Oh, I'm getting paper
Look at me now
Oh, look at me now
Yeah, I'm fresher than a motherfucker

[Outro: Chris Brown]
Okay, okay
Is that right?
I'm fresher than a motherfucker

5 reasons why I pick AirAsia over Malaysia Airlines

I fly frequently.Yes, I do. But just within Malaysia and even that, only between Kuala Lumpur - Kuching. Kuching - Kuala Lumpur. Kuala Lumpur - Kuching...okay,okay, I think you guys get the picture already right?

you wanna know why? keep reading!

So, normally when we're doing something over and over again, we kinda' like know what we want most, and we don't think is not important. Am I right?

Take this for example, if you guys are going to work - should i take the public transportation or should i drive? Well, since you're doing it everyday, you know very well the pro's and con's. I'm not saying this as if it's facts

But - merely from experience. It's just when you're doing something over and over again, it's natural you know.

So, in my case, I have two options - should I take Malaysia Airlines or should I take Air Asia?
In other words, should I take the luxury but still affordable Malaysia Airlines or should I take Air Asia, the low cost airlines?

Malaysia Airlines...mmm...not now.sorry.

Is this important? Oh heaven yes! It's a freakin' 2 hours flight - it's a very important decision.

But for most of the times, and it's basically a no contest, I'd take Air Asia.

Why? Because it's cheap?

nah, usually I order wayy in advance. So the price is pretty much the same between the two airlines.

Now, let me tell you why I pick Air Asia over Malaysia Airlines in 5 reasons:

  • The foods
Yes. As absurd as it sounds, foods play a major factor in my picking the plane I decide. Now, I've noticed Malaysia Airlines' provided meals on board are quite good, but I'd prefer AirAsia's selection instead.

And now, they are providing a variety of foods that I really love. And if I want to eat them, I buy. If I don't want, I don't buy them. Easy, heh

Convenient.

But most of the time, I'll buy. That's where this affects my choice the most.
However, for Malaysia Airlines - the foods are delicious but they are limited! If they only provide 1901 Hotdog on board, maybe I'll re-consider!
  • The trip from Kuala Lumpur to the Airport
I love taking the bus from Kuala Lumpur's KL Sentral. About 45 minutes journey to the airport. And I feel I'm properly insured on the bus, for some reasons.

Yes, there's also buses going to the main airport, KLIA but I have been on the AirAsia's Red Bus for many years, whenever I'm on a different bus, I have this little voice calling out, not safe! not safe!

I cannot explain why and how, but I don't feel safe!

Unless if I were to take the "bullet train" from KL sentral to KLIA, then it's okay. But it's freakin' expensive! So no.
  • The Airport, LCCT
I don't like KLIA much. I prefer LCCT. Perhaps LCCT is my comfort zone, so I just feel it's much easier for me to hang out at LCCT rather than at KLIA because it's smaller, the stores are closer with one another and I don't have to walk much. Trust me, KLIA can make me feel exhausted at times!

  • What I don't want and what I want
It's pretty straight forward with Air Asia. What I want, I'll order. What I don't want, I don't order and would not go paying for it.  This is a major contributing factor actually, other than the foods. I prefer to be given the freedom to pay for what I want rather than forced to pay for something I don't need.
  • Tony Fernandez
Tony Fernandez
Okay, don't worry. I'm not paid to write this. heck, if I get paid, that'd be cool but seriously, in my freakin' dream! Thus, I'm not being bias. So, another reason for my choosing Air Asia over Malaysia Airlines is because of this man here - Tony F. Why? Let me break it down for you.

  1. I love what he's doing to boost the entrepreneurship in this country.
  2. He fights hard for the aviation industry in this country and he made it very cheap now for me to travel. I remember when I was young, it was freakkkking expensive. Seriously expensive.
  3. He's my role model. So, just as I'm a hardcore fan of Manchester United, I'll do anything for them. So, I'm Tony's man through and through. (Like I said, I'm not paid to say this! Ha Ha Ha!)

Well, these are the reasons why I pick Air Asia over and over again. These might not be the type of reasons you expected, but I am weird so these are why I am picking Air Asia over Malaysia Airlines.

Oh, and another thing, my best friend is a pilot in Air Asia, so I've seen for myself how hard he struggled to become a pilot for the company - thus why because of him, I have a strong impression that the pilots in Air Asia are very competent and pro! So, I feel safe.
he's showing off. =_=

Well, when I'm paying for something, I want value and these are the values that I'm looking for. Sorry Malaysia Airlines, maybe I'll go for you when I want to go abroad.

P.S when I'm loyal to brand, hell yeah,I'm loyal.

Sincerely,
the weirdo.
Clive

Don't stop! Don't stop! [Must watch!]

Remember the saying, don't stop fighting until the end?
This video illustrates it perfectly !

I'm sucking and I love it!

We've heard (or at least, I assumed we've heard) many types of so-called alternative medical treatments mushrooming among us these days. Some are really somewhat convincing, while a few, meh I have serious doubts. I have to be judgmental 'cause when you're dealing with health treatment, there's no space to play around.

So guys, I've told you before that I was with a leech therapy company before. I enjoyed my time there and of course, picking up new skills and knowledge are the benefits I managed to accumulate along the way.

And when you've been involved with something for quite awhile, people around you still associate you with what you did. In my case, I still am the spoke person for leech therapy. I've studied it seriously, I did. Well, furthermore I don't have any formal education with medicine, so I should take the learning seriously if I were to explain to the people what's leech therapy, how it helps and what are the side effects - things like that.

Obviously, the simplest answer you can give someone if they ask, what the hell is leech therapy?:
The hell is this, it's a form of treatment that uses leeches as your main medium to treat somebody.

I think that by itself, is very simple to understand. Then the 1st answer would lead to the 2nd question, why uses leeches though?
Now, for the second question, I'd have to come up with a statement beforehand, which is - I do not believe a being or an invention of men can heal all diseases that exist in life. If there's one thing I've learned, it's the fact that no single medicine can cure/ heal everything. So, be careful.

Well, I believe leech therapy can best be used for diseases/illness that is related to blood circulation only.I can quote a few lines from published journals, but I think it's best if you guys go search up yourself to better equip yourself with the background on leech therapy.

Why blood circulation-related diseases only? Well, that's largely due to the properties that exist in the leech's saliva. Here, let me put it this way - if you are drinking a glass of cold chocolate, if there's not enough water, it can be quite hard to drink it, isn't it? Now, what do you do when this happens? You add water to dilute it.

The same goes with leeches. What you guys have to understand, bloods are source of foods for them. They don't suck for fun. So, when they are having their "meal", they would want to "eat" it easily, not having to suck until their eyes popped out (note: leeches do not have eyes).

Make sense now? I'm not going to boring you with the long list of facts about the properties in the leeches' saliva. My intention in sharing this post with you guys is to help you understand what exactly is leech therapy. Besides blood dilution, they too help with other areas as well - for example, one that involves inflammation. That's why when you are suffering from sinusitis, for instance, I'd recommend leech therapy.

But is it safe though?

The practice of leech therapy is somewhat vague in my country (Malaysia). But I do know that there are a few selected countries in Europe are doing leech therapy, and they are doing them professionally and follow the standards practiced in the clinics. Hygienic practices are important when we are doing something related to health.

So, before you are considering leech therapy, make sure you have your top priority is hygiene. And avoid road-side demonstrations. I see a lot of that in Malaysia and that is not healthy

However, if you managed to locate service centre that offers leech therapy with good practices, do try because it's quite fun and a unique experience. You'd feel squeamish, but you get over it after awhile once you get the hang of it.

When I was actively involved in this field, to convince my clients that it was safe for them to undergo the treatment, one of the main focus areas was to convince them that the leeches are actually friendly, and with well-trained professionals besides them to look after the leeches, you're safe.nah,no biggie.

So rest assured, leech therapy is safe and helpful. Now, I'm not promoting any company or organization, I'm saying this out of my willingness to share with the people why leech therapy is good.

But after all of these having been said, are you still willing to try though? If you have, tell me about it. I'd love to hear your experience!

Happy new year.

Kshetram – Khichdi of Arundhati & Chandramukhi

Release date: 29 December 2011
Rating : 2/5
Director : T Venu Gopal
Producer : G Govindarajulu
Music Director : Koti
Starring: Jagapathi Babu, Priyamani, Kick Shyam, Aditya Menon, Kota Srinivasa Rao

Priyamani and Jagapthi Babu are the principal leads in the movie along with ‘Kick’ Shyam. The movie has been directed by T.Venu Gopal and Govinda Rajulu is the producer. The movie has hit the screens today. Let us see how the film is.

Story :

The ‘story’ of this film revolves around a powerful village leader Narasimha Rayalu ( Jagapathi Babu ) and his wife Lakshmi ( Priyamani). Narasimha Rayalu changes his name to Naga Penchalayya in order to complete an ancient ritual that is critical to the well being of his village. He is stopped in his attempts by his own Chinnanna ( Kota Srinivasa Rao) and his cousin Viswanadha Rayulu (Adithya Menon). The ritual remains incomplete and the movie shifts to the present day.

Chakri( Kick Shyam) is the son of Viswanadha Rayulu and he falls in love with Sohini (Priyamani), who is eerily similar to Lakshmi. When Sohini comes into the ancestral house of Chakri, strange supernatural events happen and powerful spirits and athmas come into the picture. What happens to Sohini? Will the ritual be completed? That is the story.

Plus Points :

Priyamani is the sole saving grace of the movie. She tries her best to shoulder the film but there is only so much she can do in this case. She is a brilliant actor and you can see why in the second half of this movie. It is so sad to see such a talented performer being wasted in films like these.

Tanikella Bharani is okay as the Achari. Adithya Menon is decent in the role allotted to him. Kota Srinivasa Rao is okay and he has done the maximum he could do in the role sketched out for him.

Minus Points :

Jagapathi Babu is a very fine actor and he should stop accepting atrocious roles like the one in this film. He appears very uncomfortable while trying to come up with a ‘powerful’ performance. He is also let down by a poor characterization and silly dialogues. ‘Kick’ Shyam has no clue as to what is going on around him and he has been wasted in this film.

Brahmanandam’s role is a major disappointment and looks silly. Hema and Surekha Vani are wasted in extremely poor roles. Brahmaji is another wonderfully talented artiste who is wasted time and again by filmmakers. His role in this movie is forgettable. Same goes for Rajiv Kanakala. There are many other artistes who just flash for a minute and then disappear completely.

The movie has borrowed heavily from films like Arundhati and Chandramukhi. Etching of the characters and many scenes in the film will remind you of this fact. Direction is extremely poor and story has colossal holes in its plot. There are many highly illogical scenes in the film. For example, Jagapathi Babu changes his name to Penchalayya officially and the next minute, people around him break out into a song praising him in his old name.

Technical Aspects :

Screenplay is very bad. Editing is extremely jerky and is a major minus. Cinematography is average and special effects are ok. Music is very poor and none of the songs are worth remembering. Background score is a disaster.

Dialogues are a major minus and outdated. They would have been out of place even in Telugu movies of the 1980′s.

Verdict :

Kshetram is a bad khichdi of Arundhati and Chandramukhi. It is so bad that it is a disgrace to even mention those classics in the same sentence with this movie. A better director would have been able to make the movie work atleast in B and C Centers. Kshetram has absolutely nothing to offer movie lovers. This is an avoidable flick.

Shabana is a perfectionist: Javed Akhtar

He is a wizard of words and she the face of parallel Indian cinema — Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi make an enviable couple. After almost three decades of marriage, the writer-lyricist admits he is still in awe of his “perfectionist” wife whom he lovingly calls ‘Dr.No’.
“Shabana is a perfectionist. A lot of people think she is extremely picky and choosy about her work, but that’s her temperament…she won’t say yes to a script unless she is totally convinced. If she reads 100 scripts, she says no to all except maybe three or four! That’s why I call her Dr.No,” said Javed, who tied the knot with Shabana in 1984.
Javed, 66, says even though Shabana has too many criteria for zeroing in on her films, she gives the projects her all once she gives the nod.
“It is amazing how much she dedicates herself to her work. When she takes up a film, she takes her role very seriously and goes into small details to get the role right.
“I remember Shankar Mahadevan saw Shabana’s ‘Morning Raga’ in which she has played a Carnatic singer, and he told me that looking at her poise in the movie, no one could ever tell that she didn’t know classical singing. So that is what Shabana does…she perfects everything!” he said.
The writer-lyricist, who is hosting Zee Classic’s new show “Classic Legends”, said even in personal life, Shabana is “perfection personified”.
“Whether as a wife, daughter, sister or friend…she goes out of her way to make people feel special. She always remembers all birthdays and makes it a point to wish everybody,” he said.
Though Javed’s meaningful songs suggest his romantic streak, Shabana once told an interviewer that her husband has “no romantic bone”.
To that, he said: “People who work in circus, do they come back home and jump from pillar to pillar? So, why ask me this!”
Shabana is Javed’s second wife. He was earlier married to writer Honey Irani, with whom he had two children — filmmakers Farhan and Zoya.

It was difficult to change my sexy image: Neha Dhupia

Former Miss India Neha Dhupia started her Bollywood career with bold films like “Julie” and “Sheesha”, but later she moved to performance-based roles with “Mithya”. But the transition was not easy, she says.
“A lot of hard work has gone into revamping the image of a sex symbol. People have built a perception in their minds and to change that I needed a lot of patience. I am happy that my hard work has paid off and today people don’t see me just as a sex symbol,” Neha told IANS in an interview.
Her “Julie” and “Sheesha” had a lot of skin show and the subject was bold too, but Neha changed track and did films like “Chup Chup Ke”, “Delhi Heights” and “Dear Friend Hitler”.
“I am really happy with the way my career has shaped up. People have started looking at me as an actress. I never planned anything. I have grown immensely as an actor as well as a human being during my career of eight years,” she said.
“I have learnt a lot from the industry. I entered Bollywood as an amature, but the industry has taught me little nuances. I have met so many different people and I learnt a lot by just observing them. I have a lot of respect for my job,” added the 31-year-old who was crowned Femina Miss India 2002.
Her first Bollywood film was 2003 release “Qayamat: City Under Threat” and she played Ajay Devgn’s love interest.
Initially, newcomers are on signing spree, but Neha chose to move at a slower pace.
“Money has never been a driving factor for me. I want to be known as an actor. I don’t want to do work just for the sake of doing it. My aim is just to do good work. Once money gets into your mind, the entire focus of your career goes haywire,” she said.
After winning critical acclaim for her peformance as a female dacoit in “Phas Gaye Re Obama”, Neha is gearing up for the release of her new film “Pappu Can’t Dance Saala” with Vinay Pathak.
This is not the first time that Neha will be seen sharing screen space with Vinay, she has worked with him in “Raat Gayi Baat Gayi?”, “Dasvidaniya” and “Mithya”.
Directed by Saurabh Shukla, “Pappu Can’t Dance Saala” is a romantic comedy and is slated for a Dec 16 release.
And to prepare for her role, the actress spent some time with the real-life backup dancers.
“By spending time with the backup dancers I have realised that they are very ambitious and passionate about their work and are very sorted in their mind. This is something which really important to achieve success,” she said.

No catfights between talkative Sonam Kapoor & Bipasha Basu on ‘Players’ set

It is said that catfights are inevitable when two actresses work together in a film, but Bipasha Basu and Sonam Kapoor proved it wrong by bonding well on the sets of their forthcoming action thriller “Players”. Both shared a “talkative” equation while shooting.
“Something very similar between us is that we can’t keep our mouths shut. We just talk about ourselves. We are one of those girls who just want to talk about ourselves,” Sonam told reporters here Thursday.
Came Bipasha’s quick admission. “Abhishek (Bachchan) gets tired because we talk to each other and keep talking about ourselves.”
The actresses denied any catfights. “As you see we are not having any catfights, Abhishek told us we are not making enough news because we are not fighting!” said Bipasha.
Often referred to as “talkathon” by her friends, Bipasha is quick to admit Sonam takes the cake when it comes to yapping.
“I really like to listen what Sonam talks about, so I sometimes keep quiet. I used to think I am very talkative, my friends even given me a name ‘talkathon’. But when I met Sonam, I realised there is someone who talks more than me,” she said.
