Ravi Teja films inspire Bollywood

Ravi Teja films have many takers in the Bollywood remake market with several Bollywood biggies, including highly acclaimed director, Sanjay Leela Bansali, taking up these flicks for Hindi remakes. His 2006 Telugu full-length entertainer Vikramarkudu is currently being remade as Rowdy Rathore, with Akshay Kumar playing the lead role. Kick, another Telugu and Tamil blockbuster, is being remade by Sajid Nadiadwala, who has acquired the film’s rights. The remake is slated to have Salman Khan, a keen observer of Tollywood developments and his new and successful Dabangg heroine, Sonakshi Sinha, playing the film’s lead characters.
Don Seenu follows Kick, with Akki in the lead role again. Clearly, Akshay seems to have been bitten by the Tollywood bug! Eighties’ superstar, Jitendra too, who also had a share in Padmalaya Studios, had earlier shown an interest in Telugu remakes and his production house, Balaji Films, had therefore taken up a related venture. However, it seems like both Tollywood and Bollywood film industries are exchanging inspirations, with Dabangg being remade as Gabbar Singh in Telugu and Bodyguard, originally a Malayalam film, successfully remade in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. Pokiri has a Hindi remake and Dookudu, along with some other films from the Southern film industry will follow suit.
