Accepted at Malaysiakini.

I've been reading Malaysiakini.com since mid last decade guys. If you've never heard of the website, click here. Anyway, I like the site for its unique way of telling the news, being neutral and different from the mainstream newspapers like theStars, news strait times, berita harian and utusan Malaysia. I just feel these papers are too pro-government that it's not worth reading anymore other than for its sport section.

So, recently I've met a friend of mine who's the Chairman of a Youth Foundation called myHarapan, Mr. Roslan. I spoken to him about my current state of looking for a job. And he had suggested Malaysiakini!

For one, I have never thought about applying at the company. But - what the hell, no harm in trying, right? I sent in my CV and cover letter and soon enough, received a call from them and told me the good news. I've got the interview!

The interview day

I went to their office in Bangsar.I was not entirely nervous. In my head, no point turning back now, now that I'm sitting in their office lobby, and then I was called inside and two interviewers came in. Safe to say, it was roughly around 30 minutes. One of them kept on pointing out - as I was looking for sales & marketing position, and I'm a graduate of computer science, why would I apply for SM position instead?

Honestly, after my involvement with a lot of youth entrepreneur activities and projects, I just feel this is the thing I wanted - sell, sell and sell. Thus, the position applied.

And by the end of the interview session, they said they'll give me a call in a week's time. I said, okay.

Where they called me...again

This time with good news. They said my application has been accepted.I was very happy! I'm excited about working with the company because I love the website.

But the thing is, I'll be starting on the 19th. I asked them, can't I start sooner? No, I cannot.

Oh well, looks like I have roughly more than a week to burn at home. I guess I should work on my side projects for now. I will add in another section dedicated for the project soon!

Thanks for your time spent reading this.
Merry Christmas!
